Vieem

Be It Hated

Album: Be It Hated

Vieem is on touch down with Be It Hated.

What do you think of when you hear a looped intro followed by synchronized ticking? Usually it is a mood setter preparing the listener up for perhaps an arouser of a performance, or maybe the other way around. For "Be It Hated" it's just the beginning. A gentle whisper as the curtin is set. It's before dawn. Night has lift then daylight breaks. It is like she is walking on the border of the equator. Vieem finds hiding on top of a hill, exhausted like the killer on the loose. As her pristine voice narrates the tale of being loved then having it all turn to hate in "Be it hated". The scenes reverse, with the narrator singing the tale about what took place before the aftermath with "This ends now".

Electric plucking guitars mix with dynamic tombo drumming patterns electrifies the mode of Be It Hated. Just as the title, Vieem plays the part of good girl gone bad because of breakup. An eerie swamp, a bludgeoned body, bloody face, from her victim, whose contribution is what's left of the bottom torso.  Vieem drags  the evidence, (that one can safely assume after all the trouble, it's more like meat bag for ravens).

Taking on an exacto charisma befitting to it, she is seen almost glorifying her madness with rejoice. The best way to describe it is like (I did it and got away with it and if can't have you then no one will). It is definitely a movement piece, in both respects. Vieem uses her entire body to conduct her celebration dances. In hair swanking motions, that defy closed confounds, full of energetic kicks with a face of sexy dementia.  In one scene she rips, then screams with passionate possession. (The equivalent to scoring a touch down and doing the touch down dance). It's when the camera is not moving or she is caught in the slow moe do you wonder what is going on.

There are small glimpses of regret like when she is in the mirror. ( Or, just fun to think so). Carried by a super catchy melody, and glowing hints of lyrical genius. Her voice is superb in tonality and texture. The chorus along with the intro are the cat's clincher  "The hollow hearted slides deeper cross the soul", sung "On the flip side of love to the despite is loathing". In the final chorus, vieem is neither repented, nor regretful, but just satisfied. Like the lyrics suggest, that to be in love then to be hated, rather then have never experienced anything at all. Sometimes all comes with the territory.
